This Zafar Takiya sword has a wonderful crafted wootz blade . The blade is forged from a very fine wootz and is very flexible . The blade looks like its marked with an inventory number. Maybe from Alwar Armory.

This is a very nice Tulwar 18th century I think this maybe from Bikaner Armory I have seen an almost identical one on another website they thought Bikaner too! The hilt is very nice as is the heavy curved single edge blade, that has an interesting pattern showing . The blade would benefit from a polish.There is a mark on the hilt as well not sure of its translation. Overall a nice solid sword.

I am very pleased to add this Bhuj (axe) to my collection. The condition of the piece is superb. Almost all of the gilt remains to the fittings and scabbard. The haft is engraved with a very traditional flora motif as is the scabbard fitting. The blade is very well forged without any flaws. The piece is coming from the state of Gujarat in the Kutch. The haft has a dagger hidden in the end of the haft. The engraving is quite well done as is the craving of the elephant.

This is a massive Qama of the Tbilisi style. With the signature gold koftgari, that is done superbly. The thick cut walrus hilt is something to behold at an inch thick. The blade is massive 2 1/8 in. wide with a single offset fuller. There is a very fine inscription running down the fuller yet to be translated. A geometrical design on the opposite side, these are in perfect condition and quite striking. Steel mounts that are lavished with gold koftgari simply stunning.

This is a wonderful Qama with fine silver mounts that is hallmarked with two tughra’s of the Sultan Mahmud ll along with five zig-zag assay marks. The walrus ivory grip is carved and in-set with silver gilded rosettes with coral. The blade is forged from fine steel with two in-set cartouches. The quality of the piece is very high. Sultan Mahmud ll was know as the “The Reformer”!

I am very pleased to add to my collection this fabulous Jade dagger from the Ottoman Empire. This is an early example 17th century with a superb wootz blade. The Greenish/Gray hilt is carved with laser precision the facets are crisp and clean. Rubies and emeralds are expertly set in the hilt. The scabbard is something to behold! The scabbard is finely carved out of silver then beautifully enameled in blue, green, yellow and turquoise simply stunning. The front side of the scabbard is done in a Royal Hunting motif the back side is a flora design. The complexity of the design is so satisfying giving the feel of royalty.

This is a wonderful mace. The gold Inlay (damascening) is almost all intact, the design of vines, leaves and flowers is superbly done. There is an inscription on the spherical iron head, “ Nasrum min Allahi, Fat’hun qareeb” Help from Allah and a near victory. The construction is very robust and solid all business. The weight of the mace is very surprising I first assumed that the mace was purely ceremonial in nature. Boy was I wrong the moment I pick it up whoa ! This is totally Marshall in nature. It weights in at 3.5 Lb ceremonial maces are very light to be able to facilitate holding the mace as a symbol of power for long periods of time.

This superb khanjar has a wonderful hilt made of Jasper called Sange Meryam a rare feature. The facetted grip forms a pistol style grip ,again a rare feature. Then the wootz blade has the tears of the affected or wounded another rare feature! The mounts are superbly done in silver in a Baroque style again unusual and seldom seen. The owner must of been someone of means and status. This piece is published In Runjeet Singh catalog The Goddess: Arms and Armour of the Rajputs 2018 page 30-31 .

This has one of the nicest pattern weld blades I have ever seen! The consistency of the pattern is superb. I can not for the life of me find a single forging flaw. The gold Koftgari is outstanding with only minimal loses. The geometry of the blade is perfect, I can only compare it to a Japanese blade!

By past and present officers of the Sutherland Highlanders

11th March 1877

On the 11th March 1858, during the breach of the Begum Bagh at Lucknow , McBean was in the thick of the fighting and killed 11 of the enemy in close hand to hand combat.On 20th December 1858 he was awarded the Victoria Cross.

With broad double-edged blade etched on each side with panels of scrollwork inhabited by cornucopia, silver hilt of characteristic form with foliate engraving, and black-leather-covered scabbard with silver mounts engraved en suite

There is a cartouche with the inscription that follows “PRESENTED TO COLONEL WILLIAM MCBEAN V.C. BY PAST AND PRESENT OFFICERS OF THE SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS, AS A MARK OF THEIR ESTEEM 11TH MARCH 1877.”

Reference to the Wilkinson records indicates that five swords (numbers 21800-21804) were ordered by the Commander in Chief of the Bombay Army.

I am happy to present a rare and wonderful Persian Yataghan from the Qajar period. The Yataghan has been copied by many surrounding countries over the years, the shape is very pleasing. This Yataghan is coming from Iran from the Qajar period not often encountered .The solid steel scabbard is chiseled in a typical Qajar style as is the hilt . The blade is also expertly engraved as well, but not only is this Yataghan in a rare Qajar motif the blade is fine Persian wootz steel. You would be hard pressed to find another complete example in this configuration anywhere!

A rare an interesting katar push-dagger from Rajasthan 18th century forged out of one single piece of steel, with open work of an elephant attacked by a mythical beast (makara). This is a scene of a famous exploits of the god Vishnu ,who came down to earth to protect Gajendra the elephant from the clutches of a Crocodile alternatively know as a Makara or Huhu .The side bars are done to resemble a Makara as well.

This is a wonderful all steel mace eight sided of good quality steel expertly fashioned, from the Bikaner Armory.

This Panabas has a rare characteristic an openwork tip ! I have never encountered this feature before. Also the serrations on the top are sharpened ! The blade is finely forged with a running grain that is very elegant. The wooden handle has four copper band securing the tang to the hilt. There is a historic engraving on the knob of the hilt that reads Cotta-Bato (one word) Mindanao April 8 1900 . Curiously enough that date is one day after the battle of Cagayan De Misamis in Mindanao in the Philippine-American War I can only imagine that this very Panabas was used in this battle !

Am very pleased to share a rare late 17th century early 18th century Scottish Dirk. This particular example has a rare all brass hilt. The hilt has a layer of Lacquer applied sometime in the past. It gives the hilt a nice warm patina. The blade is made from a cut down German Blade with man/moon marks and scalloped and dot decorations running down the blades spine to the tip. There is a lozenge shaped nut that is pinned over on the pommel. There is an almost identical example of the hilt in the book by John Wallace Scottish Swords and Dirks. There is a photo included.

This is a very rare Beja X Dagger rig that was picked up at the battle of Tel-El-Kebir between the British and Egyptains. It was a decisive engagement of the Anglo-Egyptain War 13 Sept 1882. This rig is a fascinating piece of history. To start with the dagger is superb, the hilt is just amazing and the blade is razor sharp on all sides!! The belt is just wonderfully tooled all unsuite with an old inventory number. And a silver engraved plaque.

I have never seen such a massive ball spike mace before, it is an incredible 38 inches around 17 lbs such a beast ! 272 individual spikes i am sure Gamma Singh must of workout with this thing!.. I have been informed recently that this a Elephant mace . This makes sense to me because of the extreme weight .

Fine large Khyber knife/sword with horn grips and very fine all in-suite steel fitting. The steel bolsters are particularly handsome being faceted and pierced, the work is above average. The blade has a thick T-Spine and a single fuller. Also nice beveled edge that is burnished, again an indication of quality. The scabbard is covered in ass hide that has been wonderfully tooled. The lanyard looks to be original a rare find most are lost to time. The balance of the blade in hand is fabulous this is a serious weapon!

This is an outstanding Karud coming from Northern India. Its massive ivory grips are attached to the tang via two rivets that have fine gilded rosettes. The blade is very finely forged wootz of a clear and high contrast. The back ridge of the blade as well as the steel grip straps, bolsters are lavishly decorated with fine and thick gold koftgari. The overall condition of the piece is superb.

A wonderful all steel katar from the 17th century South Deccan. With a finely chiseled wootz blade.The chiseling is superb and so delicate and precise.The condition is also very high.

A very well executed Kattar from the Deccan with fine chiseled features. This chiseling is what in my opinion makes these types of kattars so beautiful and elegant. This example has an enormous point which conveys immense strength! The condition on this piece is excellent.

This katar coming from Vijayanagara mid 16th century is a very good example with a good amount of gold left. Most of the examples that we encounter today have had most of the gold scraped off for the gold content such a shame! Luckily our piece has not been so damaged, so we can see how beautiful these where.

A very fine katar (push dagger) Rajput 17th century of massive Proportions. The one special detail about this piece is the single bar configuration for the grip, I have never seen this before its a whopping one inch wide. It is so thick, it feels wonderful in hand. the blade is almost 3 inches wide at the base, the point is an 1/2 inch thick just a wonderful thing.

This is a seldom seen socket yari mounted as a Tanto. The socket yari on its own is less common than the standard yari with a tang. The fact that someone took the time and effort to design and carve out the hilt (Tsuka) to accommodate the socket hilt says a lot about someones passion for this yari. Its ingenious how the silver sleeve (Habaki) slides over and down the blade of the yari to fit over the two halfs of the hilt (Tsuka). The two halfs are finely carved to fit perfect so that the sleeve is held in bye friction, there is also a peg (mekugi) that goes through the socket as well. Then it fits perfectly in the scabbard (Saya) just amazing.The fitting are all a high grade silver again superbly carved in a flora motif. The blade is very nice with two horimono on either side of the blade. The blade is very robust and thick I can see why someone thought this would make a great dagger. There is Hataraki in the Hamon.

In Hyogo Kusari Tachi Koshirae of solid silver engraved with shippo hanabishi on the flats of the scabbard and hilt. The condition of the Koshirae is superb. There is a fine koto blade signed Kunimitsu two character signature possible Yamato den.The blade has not yet been sent to be papered .This type of Presentation sword was given to Diplomats And Heads of state from around the world, from 1860s to 1912. There was at one time a record of all the swords that where give out and to whom unfortunately these records have been lost to fire.

This is a very fine Qajar period spear . With twin serpentine blades visually stunning.The koftgari and engraving is very fine.

This katar has a fine fullered blade made out of wootz. The side bars have windows that are craved in a zoomorphic theme with elephants and tigers and such in a struggle done in gold . Really just superb 19th century with a wooden sheath covered in velvet.

This is a massive Moro Punal Gunong dagger with a wonderfully made scabbard and hilt. The scabbard is finely inlayed with mother of peal and bordered with aluminum. The belt clip is made out of aluminum as well. The hilt and guard are inlaid in a wonderful geometric pattern.Honestly the work is late 40’s-50’s in my opinion but the work is superb, the blade so well made and engraved and may I add razor sharp.
