I am pleased to add to my collection this very fine and rare gilded silver locket or scabbard fitting for a dagger. The workmanship is outstanding on this little jewel! The piece is engraved on both sides with fine, Mughal-inspired poppy blooms, and decorated top and bottom ( both side unusual to decorate the back side) with fine gilded silver applied wire work in the form of stylized poppy motifs filled with glass or semi precious stones. This fine piece survives as a particularly fine example of early Deccani silverwork .

Gregory Sumida is a painter and draftsman highly skilled in different media who, over a 50-year career, has explored a wide variety of subjects from landscapes and scenes of rural America to depictions of the Old West and portraits. KAWANABE KYOSAI 1831-1889

Living through the Edo period to the Meiji period , witnessed Japan transform itself from a feudal country into a modern state. Born at Koga, he was a son of a Samurai. His first shock was at the age of nine when he picked up a human head separated from a corpse in the Kanda River. After working for a short time as a boy with Ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi , he received his formal artist training in the Kano school under Maemura Towa . who gave him the nick name “ The Painting Demon”

This a really fine Kumete from the Te Arawa Tribe from the Rotorua/Bay of Plenty Area. It is finely carved with two Tohunga (Priest-navgator) holding a Kumete a vassal to hold food or other objects. The carving is both strong and bold making for a magnificent center piece. The pieces dates to the late Victorian to early 20th century. A rare item indeed!

This is a Tibetan Talisman Astrological chart . These are used as a tool to instruct on auspicious days /months /years of 60 year cycle . This is a fascinating subject that I honestly know nothing about. But the beauty of the piece caught my eye.

This little work of art is truly amazing! The suggestive nature of the piece is very subtle but if you look at Raidens expression its clear that he is aroused the tell tail sign is his finger on his lips. The carving is masterfully executed, these are seldom seen outside of museums. There is a very similar one in the V&A museum.

Shiko Munakata Born September 5, 1903 in Aomori, Japan Died 13th September, 1975 in Tokyo Japan. Regarded by many as one of the most significant Japanese artist of the 20th century. He has been rightfully compared to Picasso and called The Japanese Picasso! He has won numerous awards such as the Order of Culture Award which I may add is the highest award for an artist to obtain in Japan. And many more too numerous to list. This piece is significant due to the medium used silk instead of paper.

Travels to Europe for about a month, and visits museums in the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, and Van Gogh’s grave in Auvers-sur-Oise, outside Paris.

Opens exhibition of ninety-six works (including eighty-eight prints) at the Cleveland Museum of Art; the show tours Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Is presented with the Aomori Prefectural Award.
His eyesight, which had been in decline since earlier in the year, worsens. Although Munakata had been going to the hospital for treatment, by autumn he loses almost all sight in his left eye.

Munakata receives Buddhism Special Order from the Nisseki-ji temple in Toyama pref. and is given the same rank from the Horinji-temple in Kyoto.

A Munakata print gallery is established at the Ohara Museum of Art (Kurashiki, Okayama prefecture); it opens to the public on January 4, 1964.

Receives the Asahi Newspaper Culture Prize for his distinguished achievements in Japanese woodblock printmaking.

This Damascus bowie is 1080 steel with L6 steel that is 800 layers. The hilt is polished elk antler. The full tang has a very nice taper. The sheath is made of fine bridal leather all hand made by Fuad. The blade is very beautiful the pattern is mesmerizing. The blade is a ¼ in. thick. The piece feels fantastic in hand light and balanced.

This dagger is simply stunning! A beautiful piece forged from 365 layer ladder patterned
Damascus.  Bronze, mild steel, and stainless steel hilt. Hand
fluted Bubinga handle with hand twisted wire inlay. File cut
Dragon Skin pommel, with a simple but effective non-threaded
takedown construction.  Sheath was also hand made by Fuad. The blade is 1080, 15N20, nickel and L6 steel. The blade is an 1/8 of an inch thick.

This Varangian flipper by Scorpion 6 Knives features a Damascus sheepsfoot blade with flipper and textured flats. The handle has a sculpted and anodized titanium frame with titanium tip up clip. Nice detent, lockup and blade seating.

This knife means a lot to me . Sadly Eric’s life ended way too soon. I have wanted an Orphan for years but was unable to get on the list or be in the right place or right time when one would come available. But I have one now but it is bitter sweet. A different combination of steels makes this Damascus Blade
a call back of pre-industrial types of pattern welded Damascus blades. The
steel was made from 5160 and 1060 steels omitting higher contrast

This is a very special build that Fuad did for me. I asked for a Persian fighter and did he deliver . This knife/dagger is almost a short sword. This has an armor piercing tip and double edge point that is a massive 7 inches. Over a Quarter inch thick beautiful Damascus full tang . Elephant ivory slabs, bronze bolsters and pommel. Razor sharp!! This is a pure stabbing machine. The sheath is a work of art, all the fitting’s are cast bronze by Fuad . The buckles the toe everything done by Fuad. In closing this piece is a master piece done by a master craftsman .

Semi-stainless steel that is extremely tough with excellent wear resistance. Simply put 3V blades are nearly impossible to break and stay sharp much longer than other comparable steels. Massive custom made Hmong knife. This is an interpretation of a traditional Hmong knife, but of massive proportions . The knife was hand forged by John Davul a talented knife marker from Porterville California.
